Disability Studies Graduate Thesis Award

The second Disability Studies Graduate Thesis Award Ceremony, which was organized in cooperation with Boğaziçi University Social Policy Forum and Research Worldwide Istanbul and with the support of Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Lund University, took place on Human Rights Day on December 10, 2019.

The annual award aims to encourage young scholars from different fields of social sciences to conduct original empirical disability studies research in Turkish universities.

Award winners and thesis titles for 2019 are as follows:

Anıl Gencelli – “An Analysis of Rehabilitation Policies in Turkey from the Perspective of Disability Rights Activists”

 Ekin Dolu – “Care Policies and Practices for People with Disabilities in the European Union Countries and Turkey”

Osman Yılmaz – “Disability Microaggressions toward Students in Inclusive Settings: The Perspective of School Counselors”
